    The Challenge

    Agrifirm is looking for a full-time (32 or 40 hours per week) Statistician, with a focus on animal feed studies (pigs and poultry) who is not afraid to take the lead. In this challenging role, you will apply your statistical knowledge and expertise within our Research department and Data Intelligence Center by providing advice and support in the design, execution, and interpretation of the statistical analysis of life science research.

    You will be a member of our Data Intelligence Center. This team is responsible for creating intelligent insights and solutions on internal and external data. The Statistician will work in close collaboration with the R&D department.

    Our headquarters are based in Apeldoorn, but of course you will also have the possibility to partially work from home. Occasionally, you will work from our R&D center in Heeswijk Dinther or visit an external research location.

    Responsibilities:

  • Drive the statistical expertise by providing state-of-the-art statistical advice and support in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of animal feed trials;
  • Support the Data Scientist using your statistical expertise;
  • Evaluate and improve internal statistical tools, methodologies and processes, based on the most recent developments in the scientific field;
  • Create new internal statistical tools for automated analysis.
  • In this role, you are part of a team of two Data Engineers, three Data Scientists, one Data Science Trainee and one Data Analyst. You will report to the Data Intelligence Center Lead.

    What can we find on your CV?

  • A Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or related work experience with strong statistical content;
  • At least 3 years of experience with statistical models;
  • Programming experience with R is a 'must have'. Experience with SAS would be nice;
  • A good understanding and ability to implement statistical techniques (e.g. linear/ logistic regression, mixed model analysis for normal, binomial, and ordinal data, repeated measurements, etc.);
  • Independent ability to maintain state-of-the-art statistics skills and implement and adapt new techniques for statistical analysis;
  • It would be great if you have some experience with animal studies and/or a background in agriculture.

    You are naturally flexible and you are at your best when no day is the same. Setting priorities and managing a varying amount of work is no problem for you.

    Furthermore:

  • You know the language of the agricultural sector but also the rules for research;
  • You have the ability to work independently, efficiently, and precisely and take initiative;
  • You are an excellent communicator;
  • You have a Driving license B;
  • It's a big plus if you speak Dutch and you have an excellent command of the English language.
