What will you do as a software developer?

Crystalloids is an expert in developing scalable and maintainable software solutions on Google Cloud. You will work on projects that leverage serverless products and services, focusing on integrating high-quality software engineering practices into data-driven processes.

Main responsibilities and tasks

• Develop (Cost) Efficient Solutions: Design, develop, and optimize efficient and scalable solutions within agreed architectural principles. Make informed trade-offs between cost, performance, security, and maintainability, leveraging serverless products and services on Google Cloud.
• Create Data Engineering / Integration Solutions: Design and implement data engineering and integration solutions, including complex data pipelines and transformations. Review and guide implementations to ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices.
• Security and Data Protection: Take ownership of integrating security and data protection considerations into solution designs. Proactively identify risks and ensure compliance with security standards across projects.
• Everything as Code: Define and enforce "everything as code" practices, including infrastructure, configuration, and deployment pipelines. Act as a reference point for code quality, structure, and maintainability.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines. Promote automation, testing strategies, and deployment reliability across teams.
• Quality Assurance: Take responsibility for overall solution quality by reviewing designs and implementations, ensuring solutions meet business needs while maintaining a pragmatic balance between quality and delivery speed.
• Client Engagement: Act as a technical sparring partner and main point of contact for clients. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain architectural decisions clearly.
• Mentoring and Best Practices: Mentor junior and medior developers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and coaching. Act as a main contact point for software engineering best practices within the team.
• Agile & Scrum Growth: Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies and team processes, with the opportunity to grow into a Scrum Master role by supporting sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and continuous team improvement.

Experience and qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Core Tools: Cloud Run, Firestore, Apigee, Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow, Pub/Sub, Dataform (dbt), and Terraform (infrastructure as code).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Services: AppEngine, Endpoints, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Dataflow, and Cloud Datastore.
• Data Engineering: Experience working with data, building data solutions, and designing data pipelines.
• Programming languages: Java/Python, SQL
• Methodologies: Experience with Agile development using Scrum, test-driven development (TDD), object orientation and modeling via UML, and scripting (Shell scripting).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, and proficiency in documenting workflows and designs.
• Certificates: A GCP Professional certificate (Developer, Data Engineer, Architect) is a plus.
