You can be part of our team As the Strategic Purchaser at Damen Naval, you are responsible for contracting (strategic) systems, products, services and/or outsourcing activities according to the naval shipbuilding project plan.

You develop and strengthen the relationships with existing (strategic) subcontractors and suppliers, and initiate market research to monitor and report on cost trends for the key commodities of your domain.

You also closely collaborate and lead a team of subject matter experts (SME's).

Executing and coordinating the procurement and outsourcing of (strategic) systems, products, materials, and services and outsourcing of activities according to applicable procedures and project boundaries.

Ensuring supplier contracts are complete, properly executed and have considered all cost variables.
Researching, qualifying and evaluating international suppliers and sub-contractors.
Driving improvement processes with strategic subcontractors and/or suppliers based upon supplier qualification and/or evaluation.
Leading a category team, defining, implementing, and executing category strategies for both strategic and non-strategic suppliers
As the Strategic Purchaser , you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
Bachelor or Master degree preferably in a technical direction and complemented with Nevi courses.
Good command of the Dutch and English language written & verbal.

customer orientation, teamwork, results orientation, behavioural flexibility, quality orientation, planning and organising, problem analysis, decisiveness, negotiating, persuasiveness, and initiative.

Permanent EU citizenship with valid EU work visa is required to be considered as a viable candidate.
