About the Role & Team


Our G/L Accountant role is a key position within the Benelux Controllership team, responsible for accounting and reporting of US GAAP compliance, Local GAAP compliance and local regulation requirements.

In this role you will work with the Compliance Manager and Benelux Controller for producing quarter and year-end close reporting including local Statutory & Tax requirements.


You'll be closely partnering with local Finance and Business teams and with various EMEA and global Shared Service Centre (SSC) teams, to ensure timely and accurate reporting, while in compliance with US GAAP and Local GAAP.

You'll be responsible for the Dutch and Belgian entities' audits in collaboration with our auditor and our internal teams.

This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.


What You Will Do

  • Work with EMEA and SSC teams to prepare complete and accurate accounts, using local business knowledge to improve GL accounting processes
  • Assist in preparation of Annual Accounts
  • Support and work on delivering input to the annual PWC statutory audits of our various entities and tax audits
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify and drive areas of improvement within current processes with the aim of maintaining the current high standard of service provided in a more efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Disney Minimum Control Standards
  • Initiate incidental manual payments for tax and other (local) payments
  • Provide input for Management reporting
  • Provide data and information for Tax filings

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified Bachelor of Economics (Business Economics or Accountancy on HBO level) with proven relevant working experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (Local GAAP, IFRS) with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Relevant work experience, ideally within a sophisticated, highly matrix international business
  • Strong Excel skills
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment where priorities must be continually reevaluated and adapted
  • High Proficiency in English is essential, Dutch language skills are preferred
  • Able to communicate effectively, with nonfinance colleagues as well as crossculturally
