    Senior Distribution Supervisor

    Are you looking for a fast-paced, regional opportunity that challenges you and develops you further in your career? We are looking for a Senior Distribution Supervisor who will be able to multitask, meet tight deadlines and succeed, whether working independently or with a team.
    Tronox is the largest vertically integrated producer of titanium-containing ore and titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment. We are an international company with approximately 7,000 employees, on 6 different continents and headquartered in the United States. Our location in the Botlek is the only factory in the Netherlands that produces pigment from ore.

    What are you going to do?

    As a Distribution Supervisor, you will be responsible for a team of about people. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating logistics activities with the team at various plant locations, with substantial coordination with internal and external stakeholders. This function needs to develop the department, and the business, by implementing both local and international policies, strategy, and goals. As Distribution Supervisor you will bring a good understanding of Logistics, customs and compliance and will be able to guide and upskill the team. We are looking for someone who is committed to delivering outstanding logistics and warehousing services through external vendors whilst effectively supervising a team. Based at our Botlek Plant, this is a permanent opportunity to become a part of our dynamic organization.

    You will work from our production location in the Botlek and work closely with other professionals in the team at this location.

    The following core activities are part of the function:


    • Provide team leadership, mentoring and development to a team of 6-10 people in Botlek and France;

    • Manage priorities effectively and lead the team to meet deadlines. Priorities can due to the fast paced nature of work and the individual should be comfortable and flexible when faced with changing priorities;

    • Communicate clearly, concisely and professionally to ensure message is well received and understood by the team. Prompt and timely response to high email volume is also required;

    • Create engagement, ownership and team building to get to the best results as team (together with the other supervisors);

    • Coach and encourage team members in their professional development.

    • Effectively manage various vendors truck carriers, warehouse partners and freight forwarding business partners including scope of service negotiations;

    • Developing and Tracking KPI's for distribution team and external vendors including defining improvement targets.

    • Management of Ocean freight movements (FCL, LCL);

    • Ensure compliance with EU and international laws and regulations regarding all elements of logistics and product movement;

    • Provide oversight and direction in the development of the logistics budget, logistics services and monitor costs to ensure budget targets are met

    • Assist with the transition from legacy ERPs to S4 Hana (SAP);

    • Think critically and work efficiently in an environment where change and process improvement activities are the norm.

    Practical information:


    • It is a full-time position;

    • You will report directly to the Director OTD Europe;

    • An assessment can be part of the selection procedure;

    • If you are hired, a pre-employment screening will be done via an external party.

    What are you bringing?


    • You have minimal 5 years of relevant work experience at a Logistics/Distribution Department, preferably Industrial area;

    • It is an absolute must that you master the English language well in word and writing. It is an advantage to speak/write other language as well;

    • Experienced in effectively managing logistics for supply of goods to national and international customers via Ocean, Truck and Intermodal transportation;

    • You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP. SAPS4 Hana experience will be highly regarded;

    • Highly developed leadership skills that develops and promotes a positive and proficient team culture;

    • Warehouse management experience including 3PL & self-managed;

    • Strong interpersonal skills wit the ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers, the Customer Service team and other stakeholders;
    • You have good communication skills, are people-oriented, a proven leadership track record and are enthusiastic;

    • Ability to work in a busy work environment, whilst safely managing priorities to meet deadlines;

    • Excellent problem-solving skills;

    • Budgeting and cost control experience.
