What you will do as a senior instructional mechatronics mechanic

As a senior instructional mechatronics mechanic, you will provide practical training to mechanics and head mechanics at the maintenance company in Maastricht. This can involve both initial training and retraining. You ensure that the mechanics are competent to work on all equipment series in the mechatronics field, both in terms of maintenance and troubleshooting. You will achieve this by educating 1 to 2 mechanics per training, while also actively participating in production.

Furthermore, you will be involved in testing and developing learning materials. This is done in collaboration with the NS Learning Center, gathering input from the technical support and quality department. Based on these resources, you will provide your instructions and assess whether the mechanics are sufficiently trained.

You prioritize quality and safety, making sure each lesson starts with the basics. You lead by example and are not afraid to address others when things are not going well.

Where you will work

At the maintenance company in Maastricht. It is a highly dynamic environment operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. When it comes to technical issues, you and your colleagues are always ready to assist, literally and figuratively.

Training and Courses:
This role requires a strong technical knowledge and teaching skills. You may need to pursue additional training, including various technical courses. The specific training opportunities depend on your expertise.

Irregular Hours:
This role involves working in shifts. Flexibility is crucial, and you may need to rotate through different teams to provide instruction. The team assignment will be determined at another time.

Job Requirements

To succeed as a senior instructional mechatronics mechanic, you need:

• A completed vocational training in mechatronics (mandatory).
• Experience in conveying system knowledge.
• Ability to assess whether employees master the material adequately.
• Experience in creating effective lesson plans.
• A critical mindset to evaluate both behavior and technical knowledge of employees.
• The skill to motivate and inspire colleagues.

• A competitive salary: up to €3,948.48 gross per month (scale 57), excluding shift allowances, based on a 36-hour workweek.
