Lead Instrument & Controls Engineer – Echt, Netherlands

Contract Duration: 12 Months (Initially via Agency, transitioning to Direct Employment)

As a Lead Engineer in the Instrumentation/Process Control department, you will independently manage various stages of a project. You will consult with the Group Leader or Project Manager about planning, progress and assignment and design changes. You also play an active role in the project team together with other Engineers and Designers.

In addition to your technical role, you also have a commercial role:

1. You agree on the preconditions of the assignment with the customer
2. You have regular contact with both the customer and suppliers
3. You can define the scope of a customer request and provide support in making a realistic calculation

You lead a team of 3 – 10 engineers and are responsible for the budget allocated to you, achieving the set milestones and the quality of the work. You will work on varied projects within different industries and will be involved from the beginning to the end of a project. You will work on concept, basic and detailed engineering where you apply process safety and process optimisation, among other things. You are responsible for delivering projects within the set frameworks. The control records, design verifications and written reports are also your responsibility.

Requirements:

1. A completed HBO course in Electrical Engineering or Instrument Engineering
2. You have a strong personality, and you are customer-oriented
3. You know how to translate the customer's wishes into a technical scope including deliverables
4. At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the Instrument & control industry
5. Experience with various software applications
6. A flexible attitude and willingness to carry out work on location at customers' premises
7. You communicate easily with your customers and colleagues, also in English
8. You persevere, are proactive and like to think about how things can be improved

Your department

The Industrial Projects department focuses primarily on engineering multidisciplinary projects, from preliminary studies to turnkey realisation as a partner for their customers. They work in renewables, petrochemicals, oil and gas, process, water, food industry and the energy sector.
