Role Description

We are seeking a freelance German as a Foreign Language Instructor (Dozent*in Deutsch als Fremdsprache) on-site position in Rotterdam. The instructor will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective German language lessons to diverse groups of learners, conducting assessments to monitor progress, and tailoring teaching methods to meet individual and group objectives. Additional responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, providing feedback, and participating in team meetings to ensure the quality and consistency of our language programs.

Qualifications

• Expertise in teaching German as a Foreign Language, with experience in language instruction and the ability to develop effective teaching strategies.
• Strong skills in lesson planning, student assessment, and delivering constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners of diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels.
• Knowledge of modern language teaching methodologies and techniques; familiarity with digital tools and online learning platforms is a plus.
• Flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of language professionals.
• Relevant educational qualifications in teaching, linguistics, or German language studies; a certification in teaching German as a foreign language (e.g., DaF/DaZ, Grünes Diplom) is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and/or Dutch is advantageous for effective communication in a multicultural environment.
