    Innovative solutions for our collection

    DevOps Engineer

    Amsterdam, 36 hours per week

    As a DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for developing code and you'll manage cloud infrastructure. You contribute to the development of the integration layer, an innovative solution that uses Linked Open Data to make the wider context of the collection accessible. You also ensure the seamless integration of systems. We code in Python and the code runs on Kubernetes in the Azure Cloud. Your main tasks are:

    • Developing code;
    • Management of integration layer;
    • Automating processes;
    • Knowledge sharing and collaboration.

    Working for the Rijksmuseum

    The Rijksmuseum is for and by everyone. Our Research Services department, particularly the Collection IT sub-department, is responsible for the collection data infrastructure and plays a crucial role in making our collection digitally accessible.

    You will be part of a diverse team of IT specialists, consisting of two application managers, a functional manager, two DevOps engineers, a data engineer, and the head of the department, Chris Dijkshoorn. Within this team, you will work closely with the data engineer to realize innovative solutions together.

We are looking for someone who can effectively collaborate and communicate within our core team and with consultants. You have a goal-oriented mindset and enough experience to operate independently in a small team.

    Additionally, you have:

    • A completed university degree, preferably in computer science, artificial intelligence, or information sciences;
    • Experience writing code for production environments;
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and server management in a cloud environment;
    • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

    What will you get in return?

    You will be given the chance to work in – and behind the scenes of – a leading, internationally oriented museum, together with dedicated specialists. In addition, we offer:

    • A gross salary of € 3,801.00 tot € 5,075.00 per month, based on a 36-hour working week (Schaal 11 (€ € of the collective agreement for museums);
    • 8% holiday bonus and 3.4% year-end bonus;
    • A fixed-term contract for 1 year (with possibility of extension):
    • The possibility to alternate between working from home and from the office, including a budget to furnish your home office appropriately;
    • Full public transport allowance (up to €345) if commuting further than 5 km. Any expenses for secure bicycle storage at the station are also fully reimbursed;
    • After your probation period, you will receive a Netherlands Museum Pass, offering unlimited access to more than 450 museums in the Netherlands. And you can always bring one guest to the Rijksmuseum for free (during opening hours);
    • Participation in various events and sports activities, such as the Rijksrun and our summer and winter parties.
