The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DPDHL. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in EMEA at Maastricht, Netherlands.

Your tasks:

• VAT/GST Returns, domestic and foreign
• Prepare domestic/foreign VAT Returns as per VAT Compliance end2end process for several entities as per indicated portfolio
• Prepare Other indirect Tax reporting as per VAT Compliance end2end process for the entities in the indicated portfolio
• Timely submit domestic/foreign VAT Returns as per VAT Compliance end2end process for a number of entities as per indicated portfolio
• Timely submit Other indirect Tax reporting as per VAT Compliance end2end process for the entities in the indicated portfolio
• Prepare timely VAT payment and follow up on execution; follow up on VAT refunds
• Reconcile the VAT GL- account to the VAT returns and review VAT reconciliation to VAT revenue figures
• Timely checklist completion in line with DPDHL Internal control Framework (ICF/ICON) including investigation & decision on the apply of VAT Compliance
• Send, support and follow up on actions and queries regarding the prepared VAT returns (error list maintenance/action log)
• Prepare/analyse data for auditors/Tax authorities in case of audit queries and assist tax audits
• New/changed VAT law and regulations:
• Initiate, stay updated and apply. Make use of existing best practices & processes to transform new/changed law into (localized) VAT end2end process
• Analyze impact of new VAT law changes and support in testing of implementation
• Support in onboarding new scope/new countries to SSC VAT Compliance able to understand/apply tax laws and regulations (if applicable).
• Internal Control Framework (ICF/ICON): responsible for correct apply of ICF framework including complete stored evidence on executed controls
• Build and maintain contacts within team, within CD 66 Corporate Tax, SSC Maastricht/Bahrain/Mauritius and Business Units to communicate on items concerning your responsible area
• Support in country/company projects for SSC VAT Compliance team
• VAT Review (light) of companies with minor VAT Compliance complexity as defined in end2end process

• Degree in accounting/Tax with strong analytical skills
• Solid background of VAT Knowledge - apply broad theoretical knowledge obtained through advanced education
• Adhere to strict deadlines set by externals (Tax authorities, Law & Auditors) or internals (Supervisor, manager)
• Ability to work independently without micro management
• Accuracy on calculations for the VAT return filing
• Good communication skills both internal and external
• Knowledge of ERP systems Oracle, SAP, SUN, Exact are a plus
• Excellent general Microsoft knowledge, MS Excel and MS Word are a must on intermediate level
• Proactive, investigative, IT oriented and problem solving skills
• Experience in financial accounting processes within OtC,RtR, PtP & IC and financial accounting for taxes
• Experience in logistics industry is ideal
• 2-3 years of experience in finance accounting, international environment
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in another company or at tax authorities
• Fluency English in writing, reading and speaking
• All other languages are a plus
