Siemens is seeking to hire a Project Test Engineer as a part ofsustained worldwide growth. This is an exciting opportunity to contributeduring the entire software life cycle of our multiscale computational chemistrysoftware Culgi.
You will be a key member of the team while working independentlyto prepare test plans and test cases, review testing checklists and validatethe solutions delivered by development.
Your uncompromising attention to detail will be required to run,monitor, and triage regression tests on a regular basis, while your knowledgeand experience will help to improve test coverage, tools and processes. So, youmust communicate proactively and effectively with local and global teammembers, team leads, project managers, software developers, and management onissues.
The Project Test Engineer will document all problems, work toresolve them and report progress on problem resolution to management.
Responsibilities
o Assessment of new product functionality.
o Develop and document test plans and procedures to verify thatour software products and releases meet the established functionality andperformance goals.
o Implementation of Software Testing strategies including theexecution of System, Integration, Unit and GUI testing to fulfil the qualityrequirements on our products.
o Test the products and document and communicate the results ofthat testing.
o Detailed reporting of software defects, communication of risksto leads and follow-up with stakeholders to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
o Develop automated testing procedures and programs to enhancecertification efforts.
o Contribute to strategic directions for the entire QualityAssurance organization.
o Collaboratively contribute to plans for overall qualityimprovement and obtain signoff from all stakeholders as required.
o Effectively work with a globally dispersed team.
o Participate effectively in cross-functional teams.
o Work with other development areas to improve fault preventionhigher up the development stream.
o Participate in testing projects as the representative ofQuality Assurance.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience
● Master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering orother closely related field.
● Experience in performing simulations of molecules, either atthe quantum, atomistic, or coarse-grained level.
● Experience in Physical Chemistry
● Demonstrated proficiency of written and spoken English.
● Strong communication skills.
● Ability to apply advanced level technical skills cooperativelyin a challenging, fast-paced environment on a team withexperienced professionals.
● Flexibility to work in different domain areas when businessdemands.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
● Knowledge of thermodynamics, chemical informatics will be anadditional advantage
● Basic knowledge of programming and/or scripting languages.
● Significant professional experience as Quality Assurance and/or Testing experience will be an additional advantage.
● Experience in managing a multi-platform (Windows / Linux) testenvironment.
