    Job Summary:

    This presents an attractive opportunity to join CSA Group. We are seeking a Product Safety Engineer (m/f/d) for Industrial Equipment to join our European Industrial Team. This role is primarily based in Plattling (GER), Milano (ITA), or Arnhem (NL).

    As a Product Safety Engineer (m/f/d) for Industrial Equipment, you will play a vital role in delivering top-tier certification services that align with our client's needs, all while ensuring the utmost product safety. This involves assessing standard requirements, applying established processes and procedures, and providing expert technical guidance, mentoring, technical reviews, and certification determinations.

    Your tasks:

  • Independently manage multiple certification projects, ensuring compliance or non-compliance with applicable safety standards, and meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality in all work.
  • Expedite quotations, determining necessary tests and samples, evaluating testing efforts, and coordinating internal and external communications.
  • Evaluate complex, unique, or atypical product types while concurrently overseeing multiple projects.
  • Sustain high productivity in line with company expectations.
  • Create laboratory work orders, review test data and reports.
  • Foster clear, transparent, and timely customer communication related to project management.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and/or testing at customer sites, involving flexible domestic travel via various transportation methods.
  • Perform risk and hazard analyses of test procedures with a focus on safety aspects.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency for mentoring and conducting technical reviews.
  • What we expect:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; alternatively, state-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
  • Profound knowledge of standards and testing procedures.
  • Experience in circuit breakers, power distribution, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with CSA standards (e.g., CSA C22.2. No series, 274, 4, 5, 14, 94.1, 94.2) and UL standards (e.g., UL 60947-series, , 489, 98, 508, 50, 50E), and ideally, the North American certification process. Experience in related standards, other schemes, laboratory and witness testing is also a plus.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); German and French skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment.
