- You are a full professor or meet qualifications for appointment as such and you are a certified and registered rheumatology specialist.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the field of rheumatology, with special emphasis on (one of) the substantive focus areas of the department. Your knowledge and experience form the basis for developing innovative treatment strategies and promoting clinical excellence.
- Proven leadership qualities, characterized by the ability to develop and communicate a vision, create support and make decisions, and work together for the mission of Amsterdam UMC and of the Division and Department which are derived from it. You are able to develop and maintain a culture of excellence and innovation, attracting and motivating the best talents to work together towards common goals.
- A strong track record of scientific research and publications in the field of rheumatology. You are passionate about advancing scientific discoveries and sharing knowledge with the wider community, both nationally and internationally. You have the strong ability to raise financial support to support the departmental research.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from medical staff and researchers to policy makers and patients, ensuring fruitful multidisciplinary collaboration.
- The leadership competencies established by Amsterdam UMC: connection, taking responsibility, and ability to change, are indispensable.
- Willingness to learn Dutch in order to enable direct communication with patients.

- Classification in salary scale H,H/A: € 14.005tot € gross per month for full-time employment (depending on experience). You will also receive, among other things, an 8.3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday bonus

Are you an experienced rheumatologist with the ambition to provide direction and leadership to the Department of Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at Amsterdam UMC? Do you possess exceptional people-centered management skills and strong content-oriented drive?
As Department Chair Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology you will have the final responsibility for the medical, organizational, financial, educational and research policies of the department. As Department chair you will have the opportunity to take the lead, along with a team of specialists, in developing advanced rheumatological care. You are responsible for substantive high-quality expertise within the department for carrying out educational tasks and research. You are responsible for the coordination of education and for embedding the department's research activities in the Research Institutes of Amsterdam UMC and in (international) research consortia. In addition, you are responsible for the developing a long-term plan for the Department that fits within the integral strategic policy of Amsterdam UMC, and you will make visible contributions to the Division's policy and the network of rheumatological care in the region. As head of department you will also be appointed as full professor. The department has a number of substantive focus areas directed towards the diseases SLE, systemic sclerosis, inflammatory myopathy, vasculitis and (refractory) inflammatory arthritis, coupled with clinical and translational immunological research using unique biomaterials and molecular imaging.
