We are looking for a passionate tester that both finds nasty bugs and has a risk-based approach for testing You will be testing our POS systems in the stores (cash registers, self-scan systems). These systems are used by thousands of customers on a daily basis which makes this an exciting project to work on

Making a difference to the customer as our new POS Software Tester / QA. You'll join the 'Point of Sale' team within the AH Customer Technology platform. This department is responsible for the development of the 'pay tower' and the staffed and service checkouts in our Albert Heijn stores and AH to go. This means you are responsible for more than checkouts and handheld scanners, handling 17 million transactions per week. When shopping at Albert Heijn yourself, you use your own product every visit. Being an Agile Tester means your ultimate goal is to ensure that only the most reliable code makes it to production. As an Agile Tester you are able to setup the tests within your team in such a way that the team is able to deliver high quality software to production. You do this by knowing the ins and outs of our applications. You work together with developers to ensure the fastest possible feedback. With your experience with test automation and requirements analysis, you marshal your team in the right direction.

Together with your team (2 testers, 1 Engineering Manager) you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. In short; as a Software Tester / QA you:

• Test Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using one of the tools like Selenium webdriver, python, pytest and robot frame work to validate the functionality, and user experience of our POS applications.

• Manual Testing: Perform manual testing activities, including exploratory testing, usability testing, and ad-hoc testing to uncover issues that may not be caught through automation.

• Agile Methodology: Work within an agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.

• Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives, strategies, and test plans for frontend testing, including both automated and manual test cases.

• Test Execution: Execute both automated and manual test cases, analyze test results, and report defects with detailed information to assist developers in issue resolution.

• Regression Testing: Ensure that existing functionality remains intact through regression testing and continuous integration processes.

• Bug Tracking: Utilize bug tracking systems to report, prioritize, and manage defects. Work closely with developers to verify bug fixes.

• Cross-Browser and Cross-Platform Testing: Ensure compatibility across various applications and devices.

• Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing best practices for testing methodologies and automation processes.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.

• Experience as a software tester with experience with integration, regression, functional; manual and automation; POS applications , API/services;

• Proven experience in frontend automation testing using tools like Selenium WebDriver, python and pytest.

• Experience with testing User-Interfaces.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Demonstrable experience in QA methodologies and attention to details;

• Ability to translate impact analysis into test scenarios to increase test coverage;

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies;

• Experience with bug tracking and reporting tools e.g. JIRA

• A personality with high-energy and curiosity to explore other systems and processes in the company and aim to incorporate this knowledge in testing for your team;

• Experience in SQL, Kafka testing is a plus;

• Experience integrating automation tests in CI/CD pipelines is a plus;
