- The Director Operations will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the Project Management, Strategic Procurement and Quality Control Organisation (team of 25 staff and approx.10 flex) to drive operations and quality objectives, product requirements, and business strategies to ensure operational excellence.
- Improving internal coordination and optimising alignment between Sales, Engineering and Project Management. Ensure proactive engagement with sales, engineering, cost controlling during the bidding phase.
- Flow streamlining the operational structure and implementation of more efficient processes. Initiate and execute continuous improvements.
- Make sure projects are delivered in line with quality, service, and cost objectives including steady and reliable financial performance and reporting.
- Engage with (strategic) customers and be the strategic procurement management anchor person in the organisation.
- Leads strategy deployment for the business unit concentrating on growth Initiatives, project execution, and strategic procurement.
- M&A is a marked focus of the company besides organic growth. The Director Operations will be involved in current and future M&A processes and fulfils an important role in the integration of new entities into the organisation.
- The Director Operations reports directly to the VP, General Manager
- Master's degree or higher in an engineering, preferably manufacturing, process or mechanical engineering.
- Proven track record in leading international project management teams (CTO) in the manufacturing/ heavy industry or Industrial high-value steel constructions.
- Experienced leader in managing multidisciplinary project teams and all operational processes in an organized engineering/manufacturing and project management environment, including supply chain.
- Senior management experience at service companies (suppliers) for maintenance support for power plants or gas/steam turbines/equipment.
- Experience with M&A transactions and integrations and/or procurement is a big plus.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and proven track record in delivering complex projects.
- Strong leadership skills, leading by example. Course-setting and steady in his/her management style.
- Hands-on approach and at the same time capable of building solid relations to the board.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English. Dutch is not mandatory.
