    Senior Vice President, Chief Digital Transformation Officer Deaconess Health System, Inc.

    Deaconess Health System (Deaconess), in Indiana seeks a progressive and inspirational leader to serve as the Senior Vice President, Chief Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO). This is a newly created position that will have oversight for sixteen hospitals across the greater Evansville market and will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.

    Deaconess has been recognized as a Best Hospital for by U.S. News & World Report, specifically naming Deaconess as the #2 hospital in Indiana for a fifth straight year. Deaconess is the only hospital in the region to receive a state ranking. Based in Evansville, Indiana, Deaconess Health System has approximately $2.1 billion in net revenue and a strong operating margin. Deaconess consists of nine hospitals located in southern Indiana and three hospitals in Western Kentucky and four hospitals in Southern IL that recently became part of Deaconess Health System. Deaconess Hospital, Inc. (inclusive of Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Deaconess Gateway Hospital and Deaconess Cross Pointe) has recently received its third Magnet designation. The system also includes Deaconess Clinic, a fully integrated multispecialty group practice along with a number of other healthcare entities.

    Reporting to the President of Physicians Division, James Porter, M.D. and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the CDTO will be responsible for organizational transformation, with a focus on improvement related towards digital innovation, leveraging AI and technology to drive innovation, quality, safety and efficiency. The CDTO will manage key strategic partnerships, including Epic and Health Catalyst and foster value creation from the use of the health system's data and technology assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. The responsibilities of the role includes evolution and optimization value creation through technology exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through digital transformation, analytics, data and governance, and enterprise information policy. The CDTO is responsible for all Information Technology, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Clinical and Nursing Informatics, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety activities to include decision making regarding technology to drive innovation and network objectives. The CDTO will align the digital strategy with the broader enterprise strategy and mission of Deaconess.

    The CDTO must be a humble and innovative leader with a practical approach to develop and deliver on a vision for digital transformation while having a strong understanding of the unique needs of the healthcare industry. S/he will have deep knowledge and a proven track record of successfully implementing digital innovation that dramatically improves the consumer experience in healthcare and/or other industries. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead change by driving consensus and creating enthusiasm are essential. The incoming CDTO must possess a highly inquisitive and creative mind, superior analytical and research skills, and the ability to champion initiatives collaboratively in a complex health system.
