    JVS control & automation

    JVS Control & Automation is a newly established unit within the group that specializes in electrical and control systems. Initially focused on electrification and automation of loading arms for ships, trucks and trains. From this role we will provide support to JLA Loading Technology and JRS loading Service.

    The complete development, engineering and production of the various installations in-house. These installations are all customer-specific designed in accordance with applicable environmental and safety requirements and are installed by their own people all over the world.

    Position

    Based on your knowledge and experience, you independently provide the engineering and programming of the systems for our loading arms and related products. This includes setting up the design in close concert with the E&I engineer. After programming and testing in the office. You do not shy away from entering the workplace and if necessary you roll up your sleeves (overalls) to assist in fault finding and assistance during acceptance tests.

  • You are flexible, have knowledge of modern technology and at least speak English. Further you see it as a challenge to work on technically complex and challenging projects.
  • You also make an active contribution to improving the product and the various working methods, by being critical and listening carefully to the issues that are put forward during production.
  • You then weigh these matters up by making a thorough cost-benefit analysis and you
  • improvements in the designs.
  • Duties & responsibilities

  • Design, configure, program, test, implement and / or manage PLC control systems and applications.
  • Draft, checking and/or revising technical and functional documentation
  • Identify, solve/debug and report problems in the field of control and HMI (Human Machine Interface).
  • Participate in progress, design and safety consultations
  • Knowledge of production processes and automation technology.
  • Works as a collaborative software engineering team member to develop design solutions for electromechanical machine control..
  • Interacts with vendors, suppliers, end-users, comply with machine requirements and specifications.
  • Trouble shooting equipment as required in house and at customer facilities.
  • Develop operation manuals and other pertinent documentation.
  • Support prototype builds and releases products into production.
  • Assists with the design, development, testing and reports for new product development (R&D) projects.
  • Participates in design projects, customized products, existing product maintenance, quality improvements, safety consultation and cost reduction.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Controls/Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 3-5 years of related electrical engineering experience and machine development
  • PLC programming experience is a must (PLC systems such as Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and machine guidelines.
  • Knowledge of production processes and automation technology
  • Familiarity with design and application of various sensor technologies.
  • Self-motivated and innovative, yet an exceptional product development team player.
  • Creative spirit that strives for innovation
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language (German is an advantage)
  • Willing to travel (international and domestic).
