Introduction:

Are you an MBO, Bachelor or Master student in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, looking for an apprentice internship? Are you challenged by working in an environment with high tech products and complex production processes? Do you have an interest in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes? Then this apprenticeship could be interesting for you.

Background information:

The Development & Engineering (D&E) sector of ASML is responsible for the specification, design and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio.

Within D&E, the department Machine Conditioning (MC) defines,
realizes and qualifies the Flow and Temperature Control systems and modules. In the Manufacturing & Equipment Engineering Scanner group within MC, we industrialize designs of Flow and Temperature Control Systems. We are a group of more than twenty-five professionals from various backgrounds and nationalities.

Your assignment:

As the semiconductor market is growing, demand for our machines is increasing. To meet our customers' wishes, our manufacturing technologies need more attention. Improving our production stages and reducing cycle time will help us advance our production capacity. The production processes include assembling, adjusting and qualifying of (sub) modules and integrating into a final assembly. With this internship we aim to reduce cycle time by investigating our production stages.

Your tasks may include, but are not limited to:

Observe machines in the factory and understand the bottlenecks;
Quantify production stages including preparation steps;
Verify procedure execution time (A time);
Identify disturbances in production stages;
Look for improvement opportunities to reduce production time;
If an improvement proposal is accepted and planned by the project, get involved in the design phase and implementation of the solution;
Present all the outcomes/reports halfway and at the end.

Your profile:

To be a match for this internship, you:

Are an MBO, Bachelor (HBO, WO) or Master student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
Focus on continuous improvement;
Possess good stakeholder management skills;
Have logical reasoning and critical thinking;
Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is an apprentice internship with minimum duration of 6 months, for 4- 5 days per week. The start date is as soon as possible.
