As an Assistant Professor of Digital Security, you will perform research in one of the following topics: network security, systems security and security/privacy of artificial intelligence.

You will also be responsible for the development and coordination of security courses at the Bachelor's and Master's levels.

There is a good balance between teaching, research and administration, giving you the time to write research proposals and further develop your research lines and career.

We have in total 2 positions available.

Profile

Your expertise should be in synergy with the current expertise of the Digital Security group and be supported by publications at high-profile journals, invitations to speak at scientific conferences, and research grants.

You have good teaching skills and ample teaching experience, a clear vision on teaching, and you are willing to teach a broad variety of courses in the Bachelor's phase, as well as courses related to your research expertise in the Master's degree programmes in Cyber Security and Cyber Security and AI.

You are a team player who is eager to collaborate with other scientists and build bridges between different research areas in and outside DiS and Radboud University, within and outside academia, both nationally and internationally.

You have good communication skills.

Note that excellence in one area may compensate for possible deficiencies in others.

Digital Security is an increasingly important issue in our society.

As one of the three research groups in the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (ICIS), the Digital Security group researches a wide range of topics in the overlapping fields of cybersecurity, cryptography and privacy.


Research topics of the Digital Security group are: the design and secure implementation of symmetric cryptography and post-quantum cryptography, side-channel analysis, software security, mobile network security, online tracking, privacy design patterns, legal aspects of privacy, and user
- and privacy-friendly solutions for identity management and data management. Additionally, the group conducts research in the various domains at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity such as the security of machine learning, AI for automated analysis and design, federated learning, etc.

We offer
You will be appointed for an initial period of 18 months. At the end of this period, we evaluate your performance. After a positive evaluation, your employment contract will be changed to indefinite.

Your salary within salary scale 11 or 12 depends on your previous education and number of years of (relevant) work experience.

The amounts in the scale are based on a 38-hour working week.
You will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8,3% end-of-year bonus.
