    Job Description:

    NIBC Bank is looking for a senior Data Management Specialist for the Data Management Services Team (DMS). Situated within the Data & Analytics Department, DMS plays a vital role as the center of our enterprise-wide data governance organization. Our current focus revolves around the implementation of a new cloud data platform, underscoring the significance of data governance and quality management. We are committed to enhancing our data maturity while fostering engagement with diverse stakeholders, where we expect that the Senior Data Management Specialist plays a vital role in setting out direction and implementing the Data Management Strategy.

    The team reports directly to the Chief Data Officer (CDO). Besides the dedicated individuals within the team, DMS is collaborating with a virtual team of data champions and data owners within the organization as well as the Enterprise Architecture team. In your function, you will report directly to the head of the Data Management Services Team.

    As the senior data management specialist, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by taking the lead in several data management related topics such as Data Governance, Data Quality and Meta Data Management (Data Catalog). Your role will entail bridging core data management functions with both data users and IT, ensuring a cohesive approach towards NIBCs data management objectives. In your role you will bridge between core data management functions, data users and IT.

    What will you do?

  • Optimize current data quality management processes
  • Lead the implementation plan of the data quality framework throughout the organization including the cloud data platform
  • Collaborate on the selection of appropriate tools for data governance and quality management.
  • Drive improvements through root cause analysis and remediation of identified data quality issues.
  • Take a leading role in the design and implementation of related processes and tooling (e.g. workflow process, business glossary process)
  • Develop an implementation plan for the Data Catalog Tool and promote its usage across the organization.
  • Assist in testing requirements and drafting use cases for the tool.
  • Implement various data management processes
  • Develop reports on the different data management functions
  • Improve the Data Management Maturity of NIBC
  • Use NIBC's data management policies, framework and guidelines to guide the organisation to higher maturity with a focus on DQ management
  • Review and provide insights for the organisation in regulations and industry-wide guidelines on data management, including data quality
  • Take part in bank -wide projects that span several knowledge domains and require effective communication with multiple stakeholders
  • Execute, align and coordinate certain DMS activities with the data stewardship, business departments and IT, including development and review of policies, standards and procedures
  • Support the Data Champions of NIBC
  • Collect ideas, suggestions and remarks on the data governance from stakeholders for continuous improvement
  • Engage in projects across business units
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in Data Quality Management
  • Establish metrics for data management activities and ensure monitoring and reporting.

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Management, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, etc.
  • Minimum eight years of working experience, with a proven track record in the field of data quality management
  • Experience in banking industry is preferred
  • Has knowledge and experience in various Data Management framework such as DMBOK (Data Management book of knowledge) or DCAM (Data management capability assessment model)
  • Fluent in English
