Your mission:

Project and role:

Your role is to directly support the Cities team with diverse projects from Circle City Scans to multi-city projects focused on capacity development.

You will analyse complex problems and work together with the team to produce innovative circular economy solutions.

You will work through all the details of how to best implement projects that can create meaningful economic, environmental, and social benefits.

In this position you will have a supporting role in the following activities:

Research:
Latest literature on Circular economy in the context of regional and urban settings, best practices, and innovations in both private and public sector.
City

- or region-specific research around circular economy opportunities, barriers and other key aspects.

Analysis:
Material Flow Analysis (MFA) at the city or regional level, prioritising key sustainability impact areas from a resource flow perspective.
Support in the creation and measurement of circular economy indicators at a city level for a variety of economic sectors (i.e. built environment, food and têxtiles value chains, etc.).
Capacity building:
Support in the development and delivery of workshops and webinars targeted at increasing capacity to tackle circular economy issues for urban changemakers.
Communication:
Providing support in writing reports, as well as blogs and social media content.
Providing support in event and workshop planning, stakeholder management and other activities on a project basis.
Provide translation services or work directly in another language (when applicable).

About You

Required Skills:

Analytical Skills:
Strong numerical analysis skills.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Ability to process and structure large amounts of information.
Ability to have a systemic approach to tackle complex issues.
Communication Skills:
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish or French is a plus.
General:
Creative and active in brainstorm sessions, not afraid to propose new ideas.
Ability to manage their own time and work towards tight deadlines.
Proactive, independent, and selfstarter.
Detailoriented.

Why us?:

A paid internship for a minimum of 4 days a week for a period of 6-8 months, but ideally in a full-time capacity, to start ideally mid-August 2024 or before.

We offer a stipend of €749 per month for a Master's level based on full-time employment (40 hours) and can provide a travel stipend of up to €100(if living outside of Amsterdam).
