- Supporting and advising the management in the implementation of personnel policy and advising managers about specific areas including absenteeism, collective agreements and working conditions;
- Work with managers and leaders to inform the people strategy and discuss the challenges at hand with the HR Advisor to action any potential improvements and/or next steps;
- Work together with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover;
- Provide guidance on people practices such as recruitment and succession planning; whilst being responsible for the recruitment and selection within your region;
- Influence and build relations with people around the business;
- Act as a local point of people expertise for specialist teams - at the head office and/or stores within your region;
- Question and challenge others to get to the root of people and business issues;
- Coach and provide feedback to key stakeholders to help improve efficiency;
- Assisting employees in the fields of: collective labor agreements and conditions, pensions, social security and tax regulations.
- Any other reasonable duties as per management request;
- A relevant college (HBO or MBO) degree;
- Deep understanding for the retail and/or wholesale industry is a plus;
- Excellent mentoring, relationship building and influencing skills;
- Extensive communication skills and presentation skills on all levels and a high level of commitment;
- A good understanding of the many disciplines within HR, including diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management, employee and union relations, etc.
- Ability to empathize with others;
- Ability to work independently, a 'hands-on' mentality, able to set priorities and solution oriented thinking;
- Team player, flexible, customer-focused, accurate, results-oriented and can work well under pressure;
- Knowledge and/or experience with national and regional labour law, and tax and social security regulations;
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both Dutch and English, any additional European languages are a plus;
- Computer literate, with a good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel;
- Knowledge of SAP, Cobra and ProTime system is a plus;
- Living nearby Amsterdam (within a radius of 30 km).
