Taleya Ouellet

What drives me is my curiosity to understand how data and information is connected within complex problems and to be able to use these connections to break down the problems into something that brings a new perspective. I am a strong advocate for communication, creativity, and connection which I believes are critical for any team to be successful. I am new to the City of Leiden, I have a valid work permit and I am also actively taking Dutch lessons trying to improve my Dutch.

I have acquired over 2 years of experience in various water sectors from academia research to R&D and government work to gain a multifaceted understanding of various problems in the water sector. I also have experience with customer service through bartending/waitressing and doing barista work which I enjoy. I love to learn through fostering curiosity and creativity within various team dynamics.

I have a degree in Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Pollution Treatment and Remediation from the University of Waterloo, Canada. During my studies, I also studied abroad at TU Delft where I took waste processing and water management courses to better understand waste and water management through the Netherland's perspective.
