OLGA PAPAIOANNOU

I am a graduate of the Department of Biology (2014) University of Thessaloniki and I have a M.Sc. (2016) in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics and Diagnostic Markers, from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly. From November 2016 until September 2022, I was studying for a Ph.D. at the same Department, working in the Structural and Functional Biochemistry Laboratory. I have a strong educational background in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. I offer proficiency in structural biology, protein production in bacterial cell culture and purification-FPLC and techniques in molecular biology in general. I also have strong experience in bacterial and cell culture, protein analysis techniques (Western Blot, SDS-PAGE, Native Page, Silver staining, protein quantification) and protein crystallization methods as well as a wide variety of lab techniques and computer skills. I have good organizational skills to plan and carry out experiments. During my work as a Ph.D. researcher, I have organized not only my own experiments but also the experiments of MSc and undergraduate students. These experiments were mostly about structural and biochemical studies of proteins. I designed experiment protocols for protein expression and purification using Fast Liquid Protein Chromatography (FPLC). I have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a research team. I adjust to changing environments quickly and have the ability to work on multiple projects efficiently. I also have excellent communication skills along with the ability to write and give presentations to explain the results of the research and to work efficiently with other professionals.
