I am a common law qualified litigator with experience as an IT analyst, and a business and risk advisor.

I am a common law qualified litigator with experience as an IT analyst, and a business and risk advisor. I started my career in the IT industry, being the bridge between various teams, and translating IT information into digestible documents for the leadership team.  After completing my law degree, I practiced law for the Crown Law office.  Working at Crown Law is being a trusted advisor to the New Zealand Government.  I gave our clients advice on a large and diverse range of regulations and legislation, quickly providing advice, or litigation options.  I was junior counsel in litigation and advice files, many of which involved complex, novel and high-profile issues. I was involved in all aspects of the litigation process, including drafting court documents and legal submissions, and appearing in court. 

Prior to Crown Law, I worked at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in a variety of roles. I began my employment at MBIE as an Assistant ICT Analyst, and was promoted to an ICT Analyst, a Risk and Assurance Advisor, and a Business Advisor. In these roles I led meetings with staff within the Business and Corporate areas at MBIE and am well practiced in assessing, managing, and advising on a diverse array of risks, both technical and strategic. My experience includes not only guiding teams on risk mitigation but also creating and implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks. At MBIE, I was also in charge of the IT risk register and IT monthly reporting. I am well practiced at tracking projects and highlighting risk areas, including budgeting.  I was regarded as a very flexible and useful employee and was frequently pulled into various projects, including writing communication plans, and workforce capacity planning. 

Most recently, I took a career break and worked as a Mountain Safety Lead for Vail Resorts on Whistler Blackcomb.  I am ready for my next challenge and am excited by the way technology interacts with legal and risk.
