As a third-year International Studies student at Leiden University, specialising in MENA studies, my passion for sustainability has been further deepened through an enriching exchange semester in Japan. During this transformative experience, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in environmental courses that significantly expanded my knowledge of the intricate environmental challenges we face. These courses shed light on the complex issues that impact policy-making and our everyday habits in the ongoing battle against climate change, as well as the crucial transition towards a carbon-neutral future. This exposure has empowered me to critically analyze and understand the interconnectedness between societal, economic, and environmental factors, inspiring me to seek innovative solutions and contribute to sustainable practices on a global scale. By combining my academic background with my passion for sustainability, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact and fostering positive change for a greener and more sustainable world.

As a student in the BAIS (Bachelor of Arts in International Studies) program at Leiden University, I had the incredible opportunity to engage in a consultancy project with Rabo Bank's esteemed research team, "RaboResearch." Focusing on the crucial objective of decarbonizing agricultural supply chains, I worked closely with the team to provide tailored recommendations that aligned with their commitment to green banking adoption. This experience allowed me to apply my academic knowledge and analytical skills to address real-world challenges in the agricultural sector, particularly regarding sustainability and the reduction of carbon emissions. Collaborating with industry professionals deepened my understanding of the complex dynamics involved in creating environmentally friendly and economically viable solutions. I am grateful for the privilege to contribute to such a significant project and look forward to continuing my journey of promoting sustainable practices in the banking sector and beyond.
