Mafalda Graça

I recently moved to the Netherlands and I am looking forward to have my first international work experience in an architecture studio. I would like to work on a place where I can explore a wide variety of projects, and be part of a diverse team, so I can improve my expertise. 

In my current architect role, I am a resourceful person, I manage to look for solutions independently and help my colleagues in everything that I can, so that we all can meet the deadlines. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in construction project management, as well as construction drawings and building permits, and finally feasibility studies.

I finished my Architecture Master’s Degree from Faculdade de Arquitetura de Lisboa in March 2020. I also had the opportunity to study in Milan, Italy, under the Erasmus Program during my fourth year, where I, besides learning the language, strengthened my knowledge about preservation and rehabilitation in Architecture, since they have a big tradition in the area.

After my fifth year in university and before doing my master’s thesis I was given the possibility of working with an architecture studio. I had the chance of participating in different project stages, such as on-site recognition and survey, planning application and documentation preparing, and technical design, mostly in residential projects. 

In the near future, my main goals professionally are working in a team of different and experienced people, with different backgrounds, from whom I could learn from, as well as being involved in projects from the beginning until the constructing stages. I am eager to learn new working methods, deepen my knowledge of Dutch architecture and develop my three-dimensional drawing skills.

I think I would be a valuable addition to any team, as I consider myself a very practical professional, with critical thinking and problem solving oriented. I am also a very communicative and socially skilled person, curious, focused and very dedicated in everything that I do. 

In terms of technical skills, I am a fast learner and I enjoy working from a commercial point of view. 

In respect to Architecture itself, I believe deeply in its social role, and in its ability to improve people’s quality of life and community relationships, which was the main focus developed on my master’s final thesis.
