Lauren Watson

I am studying for a bachelor's in International Communication and Media at Erasmus University, Rotterdam; so I will have some time during the summer to work.

Previous to this I was an English teacher at My English School, Rimini, for three years, teaching students of all ages and levels. I hold a TEFL 120 hours certificate. I have also co-ordinated and run summer English courses in the local primary school and worked as an au pair.

I am available to work this summer from June 23rd to the last week of August (dates negotiable). I hold a passport from the Republic of Ireland and speak English (mother tongue), Italian (professional working level) and comprehend Spanish (reading, listening).

• Prepare and deliver interactive lessons using the communicative method, supplemented with a digital presentation. Lessons were a maximum of 8 students of a similar level, from ages 11+ but mostly adults attending lessons in the evening.
• Host monthly language-focused events, ranging from extra grammar workshops to themed ‘social’ nights.
• Observe and give constructive feedback to junior teachers, and advise them on how to maintain and improve
  the standard of lessons and events.
• Create a 6-week summer programme for a group of 30 students aged 11-13.
• Hold workshops for junior teachers on drilling and classroom management.
• Check the language ability and level of new students.
• Review student feedback online and during meetings.
• Maintain orderly resources.
• Teaching online via Zoom and adapting materials for the COVID-19 period of online distance learning.

I am currently in my first year of IBCoM (International Communication and Media) at Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

I also hold a 120-Hour Advanced TEFL Qualification and a 30-Hour IELTS Preparation Qualification from the TEFL Institute of Ireland.
