Just a little about who I am... 

I am a Maltese citizen (EU) born and raised in South Africa, legally allowed to work within the Netherlands. I am a dynamic and self-motivated individual looking for a new challenge that offers personal and career growth. I embody an enthusiastic personality and consider myself to have terrific people skills and ensure to maintain patience and respect for all those I work alongside with. I pride myself on having excellent time management which allows me to complete all tasks within the expected time frame and always invite new and challenging projects as it allows for further skill development. I work well within a team environment and strive to manage my own if one is placed under my guidance. 

I started my formal working career as a lead receptionist and quickly progressed to the position of Executive Assistant for the board of directors. This was a pivotal position in my earlier career as I gained most of my business professionalism, etiquette, and strong administrational skills during this period. From Executive Assistant, I worked my way up into a Junior Underwriter position within the Bulwark group, learning the basic fundamentals for writing risk on properties such as mines, factories, and municipalities, however, due to unforeseen circumstances the board of directors decided to close doors and it was time to search for a new adventure. 

Soon after the doors of Bulwark closed, a new door opened where I was given an opportunity in the mortgage origination space. I started as a Mortgage Administrator where I quickly built my skill set, and worked my way into my previous role as a Mortgage Broker and team lead with a staff of four mortgage administrators under my management. I moved on from this role into the role of Account Executive at Blonde and Giant where I was promoted up to my most recent role as Operations Executive to oversee and streamline the company processes, project timelines, and monthly billings.

OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE (2022-2023) 

Blonde and Giant Ltd.

My responsibilities include collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, and finance, to facilitate smooth project execution and timely delivery of client campaigns. My role required me to coordinate all resources, allocate budgets, and monitor progress, ensuring projects are executed timeously, within budget, and to the client's expectations. Alongside the Head of Business Development, I would assist with developing and implementing standardised operational procedures, enabling efficient workflows, and promoting consistent high-quality outputs. 

 

MORTGAGE BROKER & TEAM LEAD  (2020-2022) 

COMCORP (WEAPPLY) | South Africa 

My responsibilities included leading a team of 4 mortgage administrators in facilitating the mortgage process for clients seeking home financing. With expertise in the mortgage industry, I efficiently guided borrowers through the complex process of securing bonds. In line with this, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders such as banks, financial institutions, and legal professionals was also an integral part of my role. I leveraged these relationships to negotiate favorable terms and conditions for my team's clients.

 

MORTGAGE ADMINISTRATOR (2018-2020)

BetterBond | South Africa 

My primary responsibility was to facilitate the process of securing suitable home loans or mortgage bonds for individuals and businesses seeking to purchase or refinance properties. My duties included assessing clients' financial eligibility, evaluating their creditworthiness, income stability, and overall financial situation I then collaborated with lending institutions and financial institutions to negotiate competitive interest rates, favorable terms, and optimal mortgage solutions for my clients.

 

INTERNAL JUNIOR UNDERWRITER  (2015-2018)

Bulwark Holdings | South Africa

My responsibilities included reviewing insurance applications and supporting documents, verifying information provided by clients, conducting data entry and record-keeping, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date underwriting files. I would assist in preparing quotes, policy endorsements, and other underwriting-related documentation. My role required me to collaborate closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer and senior underwriters in order to gather necessary information, resolve inquiries or discrepancies, and facilitate effective communication within the underwriting department and with external stakeholders such as agents, brokers, and clients. I was promoted to this role from Head of the Reception team and Executive Assitant to the board of directors.

 

CO-OWNER (2012-2022)

Baked With Love

 My responsibilities included mixing batters and icing cakes and cupcakes to showcase my creativity in cake and cupcake decorating, my role involved ensuring the consistent quality and taste of our baked goods. Additionally, I handle customer transactions and invoicing, while also managing inventory through regular stock takes.
