The European School The Hague is a unique school. We were established in 2012 to educate the children of employees of European Union institutions.

We provide a multilingual and multicultural education to Early Years, Primary and Secondary school children, culminating in the European Baccalaureate.

ESH is part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation. The Foundation stands for excellent education and supports its schools in realising the best education for its students.

Starting from 1 August 2024, our Secondary school is looking for a:

Support Coordinator Secondary

(1 FTE)

Job description


In this position, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing the school's support structure, coordinating support, as well as coaching and supporting staff.


Your broad range of duties include:

  • Coordinating activities that result from the implementation of the established support plan
  • You are the Coordinator for Inclusive Education (COPA)
  • Organising and attending the support consultation (JES meetings) and be the contact person for the SWVZHW (Samenwerkingsverband Zuid-Holland West)
  • Liaise with the office of the Secretary General of the European Schools and arranging provisions for SENstudents for official tests and exams
  • Assisting with the preparation of individual development/learning plans
  • Advising staff, management, parents and students about the deployment of internal and external social workers and agencies
  • Working closely together with the studentsupport team (psychologist, counselors, learning support specialists and support teachers) to provide the right support to SEN students
  • Maintaining the digital student tracking system, the student files and the support archive
  • Monitoring the progress of the (SEN) student's performance

Requirements:


  • Masters in Educational Needs (preferably in the field of behaviour)
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of / experience with the Inclusive Education Act (Wet op Passend Onderwijs)
  • Theoretical, practicallyoriented knowledge and experience of student support at a school

Recommendations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of working within a team dedicated to learning support, socialemotional support and intensive language support
  • Experience with ICT in an educational context (assessment data, student management systems, diagnostic software)
  • Experience in coaching/guiding teachers when increasing provisions for students with individual needs
  • Experience in international / intercultural education
  • Knowledge of the youth care support system of The Hague
  • The ability to be flexible and work under pressure

We offer you

  • An appointment based on the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Secondary Education (CAO VO), scale 11. Based on a 1.0 FTE contract, the salary will be between €3,186 €5,862 gross per month (fulltime) the specific step in the scale is depending on relevant background and experience
