    Marine Services is one of the divisions within the offshore energy arm, and we are an internationally recognized proprietor and operator of an extensive fleet of construction support vessels, large anchor handling tugs, long-distance towage tugs, and semi-submersible barges. Our aspiration is to leverage business prospects through our fleet, exceptional track record, and adept individuals in Chartering. You will engage in exploring new international projects with Chartering Vessels for Oil Majors, EPCI Contractors (Wind & Oil and Gas), FPSO Operators, and Marine Asset Providers.

    Job Overview

    Seize the opportunity as a Senior Commercial Manager at Boskalis Offshore Marine Services. In this role, you will lay out and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing tactic to push new business openings in the Chartering sector. The Senior Commercial Manager bears the overall responsibility for the procurement, negotiation, administration, growth, and execution of contracts to enhance revenue and fortify Boskalis' market stance.

    As a Commercial Manager, you will build and nurture alliances with current and prospective clients such as Tier 1 contractors, brokers, and operators in the marine/offshore, oil & gas business. Your mandate is broad and ensures you are not just focused on one aspect, as you will cultivate business and secure agreements independently, reinforced by our legal and tender department. Your primary challenge is to vigilantly monitor opportunities in the international Oil & Gas and Renewable market and secure fresh contracts with a respectable risk profile to realize the commercial and financial goals of Boskalis Marine Services. Operating in an exceedingly dynamic 'market' with short timelines demands an exceedingly proactive approach.

    Your Senior Commercial Manager Responsibilities:

    • You will oversee a small on-site team.
    • Identifying, evaluating, producing, and suggesting pertinent new business opportunities within the designated area.
    • Initiating, creating, and executing the account management strategy for key accounts in the target segment.
    • Negotiating and sealing agreements following commercial and legal guidelines and processes.
    • Supporting commercial oversight of projects by monitoring the agreed budget, identifying risks promptly, recognizing deviations, and pinpointing chances to optimize financial outcomes.
    • Formulating contracts, arbitrations, and fee structures for subcontractors within budget and project parameters to maximize returns.
    • Ensuring commercial data input on inquiries, contracts, visit reports, competitive insights, and client specifics in pertinent databases to contribute to the sales strategy and bolster sales potential.
    • Maintaining KPI reporting for management and suggesting necessary actions to attain commercial objectives.

    To Excel as a Senior Commercial Manager, You Must:

    • Possess a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in a sales/commercial role in a complex and global professional environment, particularly in an integrated services solutions setting for the Marine industry.
    • Boast an existing network in the offshore energy arena (marine transport, oil & gas, renewables), ideally within Europe, Africa, or the Americas.
    • Be prepared for frequent travel (40%).
    • Hold expertise in acquiring and negotiating lump-sum international agreements.
    • Have excellent command of English.
    • Demonstrate these traits: result-driven, culturally aware, adept at working in a dynamic setting, meticulous, customer-focused, and proactive.

    Additional Details:

    • Your Team: Part of a 7-member sales management team and 2 sales coordinators. Four are based in Papendrecht, and the rest are in Scotland, India, and Singapore. You report to the Commercial Director – Chartering in Boskalis Marine Services.
    • Workstation: Situated at our Papendrecht office. Telecommuting and office work are both possible.
    • Full-time status with over 40 hours commitment per week, with weekends being part of the job scope.
