Patient Access & Health Economics Manager**
Purpose of the role

Patient Access & Health Economics Manager is a key position to face the changing health care environment due to the increased pressure by the growing health care expenditures and the choices the payers must make between existing and new interventions.

Our tenacious, assertive group of individuals uses a deep understanding of the healthcare system in order to build collaborative relationships with reimbursement authorities, payers and healthcare providers that help cultivate positive uptake of and education about our medicines and value-driven healthcare solutions.


Main responsibilities
In order to develop country specific evidence (adapted to the local regulations), to realize optimal reimbursement coverage and usage, the PA&HE manager should:

  • Identify HTA data that are needed in view of the Dutch health care system and address the need of various clients, e.g., NL hospitals, care groups, Ministry of Health, Health Care insurers, guideline committees.
  • Liaise with the EURAM HTA Center of Excellence to define transposability of already existing economic studies, pharmacoeconomic models, budget impact calculators.
  • Define data gaps to support the economic value of our medicines.
  • Coordinate or (if necessary) implement outcomes research & health economic studies that fill these gaps and support key publications, reimbursement strategies along with value dossiers and submissions to various payers.
  • Analyse data, build reports.
  • Develop/write the farmacotherapeutic and economic components of reimbursement submissions to a high quality and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development of health economic expertise within the Value & Patient access department;
  • Anticipate changes with a possible impact on accessibility to medicines and contributes to secure favorable and sustainable public policies on access to healthcare;
  • Works closely together in cross functional teams with colleagues from Medical Affairs, Policy, Communication and Population Health and liaise with the related Business colleagues.

Your profile:


  • Master's degree in (Health) Economics or Econometrics
  • 35 years of experience in health economics and,or HTA area and performing economic data analysis, (econometric) modeling in the pharmacutical industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of the market access environment, hospital systems, and integrated systems of care.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare industry including the pharmaceutical industry (market access, medical, clinical research and marketing and sales) is a plus.
  • Competency in pharmacoeconomics including a deep understanding of research methods, health economic modelling, and related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake complex analyses and to produce clear recommendations and/or reports.
  • Expertise in a therapy area (i.e., oncology, vaccines, immunology, cardiovascular) is of added value.
  • Experience with development of a reimbursement dossier (farmacotherapeutic/economic) is a plus.
Skills/Knowledge required

  • Strong analytical background as well as leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and clinical data interpretation and analysis skills. Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence others in complex networks.
  • Display a clear attitude and interest in identifying new economic developments, data sources, ways of working.
  • Language: Dutch and English.
